Challenges & successes
Due the urgent nature of the project, the detail design was developed in parallel with construction. This resulted in a high degree of design changes which threatened to delay the project. Our engineering and construction teams worked as part of the integrated project team with our client, the site owner and the Designer to discuss and resolve each issue on a day to day basis. This collaborative and detailed approach was successful and resulted in the project being delivered on time and within budget.
The changing nature of the design and other priority changes meant that we were required to work in a flexible and agile manner to maintain the project schedule. Direct employment of our labour and direct ownership of our plant and equipment meant that we delivered 95% of the works in house which allowed us to work flexibly.
The project design and specification was to very high engineering and construction standards with a significant amount of client oversight. We delivered the project to meet these high standards and our construction work was delivered with zero defects and non conformances.
