  • Site surveys and marking out
  • Site measure for materials
  • Preparation of the surfacing schedule
  • Full depth surfacing of existing footpaths (base, binder & surface course).
  • Surfacing of existing platform area
  • Surfacing of existing carriageway
  • Installation of a raised table carriageway junction

Key quantities:

  • Road resurfacing: 410 m²
  • Footpath surfacing: 1,460 m²
  • Platform surfacing: 130 m²

Challenges & successes

The project specification required the use of a new surfacing product using ‘rolled in’ white chippings. To ensure this was installed correctly first time, we conducted trials in a small area of the project.

The project was located in a busy part of the operational station in Glasgow city centre. This required us to keep two of the three entrances open at all times and also to resurface the road over the weekend during low traffic periods.
