DSD Construction’s HVO JCB Equipment Gets to Work on Sellafield

HVO JCB

DSD Construction’s investment continues with the new stage 5 compliant plant for the Nuclear Sector as part of its strategic carbon reduction programme.

These state of the art machines are fitted with the JCB stage 5 low emission engines and unique torque lock system for improved loading and road performance. Providing savings of 25% on fuel usage and 10% on road travel time as well as reduced service costs, both machines are capable of running on HVO fuel (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil). The reduction in overall CO2 gas emissions of HVO fuels (when compared to traditional diesel) can be up to 90%.

“We are proud to be the first in the North West to invest in HVO powered JCB equipment. Both machines will go straight to work on the Sellafield site to continue our delivery of the PPP underground services project”.Russ Henderson, Nuclear Contracts Manager.
