Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is based in Cumbria and has the ability to work in a dynamic environment to join our team

Job Description

Responsibilities and accountabilities

As a SQS you will:

  • Maintain commercial information to the contract.
  • Satisfy the needs of both the client and DSD Construction in terms of reporting contract commercial performance.
  • Liaise with the site teams in ensuring timely submission of valuations and applications.
  • Manage change control with the accurate and timely evaluation and agreement of final quantities, additional items, rates and compensation events.
  • Ensure cash flow is maximised.
  • Have previous NEC contract experience and an ability to use a range of IT packages including MS Office.
  • Be willing to undertake training and development when appropriate.

Qualifications, training and technical knowledge

Already experienced as a SQS you will have a HND or Degree in quantity surveying (or other commercially related discipline).  You will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of monthly reporting and you will have an understanding of period cost reporting and comparison with budgets/forecasts.
